夏城华语学校建立于1993年1月，旨在夏城推广学习中文及中国文化。目前学校拥有5个中文班和3个数学班。夏城华语学校已经成为拿省华人社区蓬勃生活的一个重要组成部分。
一、2014年度大会情况
学校于2014年1月12日召开了年度大会, 并选举出了以下十一位董事会成员。他们是: 李善春 (董事长), 阮志宏 (副董事长), 申锦瑜(校长), 顾建军(副校长), 翟丽(副校长兼会计), 单士亮(会计助理), 王梅(教师代表兼文体活动主任), 张继锋(家长委员会主任), 张培龙 (家长委员会副主任), 乔宇(通讯主任)和卜志雨(名誉董事长)。学校作为一个非营利性正式注册的组织, 董事会的选举是加拿大法律要求的。
二、2014年活动回顾
在2014年，夏城华语学校一如既往地致力于给我们的孩子提供一个更好的学习中文的环境并提升他们的数学水平。2014年11月23日,学校组织召开了家长大会。会上各位老师介绍了班级的情况和教学方法。多位家长对学校的管理和教学等方面提出了中肯的想法、意见和建议。我们还组织了学校义务监管队, 安排课间安全值班, 举行了夏天烧烤活动和2014年春节晚会, 组队参加2014年加东地区乒乓球锦标赛。从学校网站（ www.halifaxcls.ca ）上收到的咨询和家长订阅信息注册明显增加。
三、展望2015年
我们希望2015年度董事会能在现有基础上进一步提高教学质量，提升教学水平, 丰富教学内容, 促进学生的学习兴趣。
四、感谢所有的志愿者，教师，学生和家长
董事会谨此感谢志愿者和教师对学校的贡献。许多志愿者在各个方面对学校提供了帮助, 包括教学上以及各种活动上, 包括参加学校义务监管队在课间值班。如果没有我们自愿者的无私奉献, 我们的很多活动是没法开展的。我们还要感谢所有的学生和他们的家长在过去一年中选择了夏城华语学校。如果没有他们，学校是没法生存的。董事长还想借此机会感谢董事会的全体成员在2014年度所给予的支持和辛勤工作。

The Halifax Chinese Language School (HCLS) was established in January 1993 to promote the Chinese language learning and Chinese culture in Halifax.Currently the school has five Chinese language classes and three math classes. The HCLS is an important part of the vibrant Chinese Community in Nova Scotia.
I: Report on the Previous Annual Meeting
The school called for an annual general meeting on Jan 12, 2014 to elect eleven members to the 2014 Board of Directors of the school. They are Sam Li (President of Board), Michael Ruan (Vice President of Board), Jinyu Sheng (Principal), Jason Gu (Vice Principal), Li Zhai (Vice Principal and Treasurer), Mei Wang (Recreation and Representative of School Teachers), Jifeng Zhang (Chair of Parent Committee), Peilong Zhang (Vice Chair of Parent Committee), Yu Qiao (Director of Communications), Shiliang Shan (Assistant Treasurer) and Bill Bu (Honorary President of Board). The election of the Board of Directors is required by Canadian law as the school is officially registered as a non-profit organization.
II: Review of the Activities of 2014
In 2014, the school has focused on its core function of providing a unique opportunity and environment for our children to learn Chinese language and improve their math skills. On Nov 23, 2014, we organized the parent-teacher meeting. All teachers introduced their classes and teaching methods. Some parents offered very valuable suggestions and advices for improvement. Additionally, we organized the Student Safety Supervision, Annual Summer Barbeque and the 2014 Chinese New Year Party, etc. The school’s website (www.halifaxcls.ca) was also upgraded.
III: Outlook for Year 2015
The Board advises the 2015 Board of Directors to focus more on improving the quality of teaching, stimulating student’s interest in learning and applying Chinese language.
IV: Our Thanks to All Volunteers, Teachers, Students and their Parents
The Board would like to thank volunteers and teachers for their contributions to the school. Many volunteers helped in our academic programs, student safety supervision program and social events. Without them, our events and achievements would not be possible. We would also like to thank all the students and their parents for choosing the Halifax Chinese Language School during the past year. Without them, the school would not exist. The President of the Board also wishes to personally thank the members of the Board during 2014 for their support and hard work throughout the year.
